Professional Training

Professional Training in Clipa

After more than 20 years of ground-breaking creation in the Israeli theater and dance, we open up Clipa Theater for everyone.

Our three different programs are intended for children, teenagers and adults, who are interested in sharpening their skills as performers, and to experience current multi-disciplinary creation.

The “Gufia” workshops are lead by Idit Herman, artistic director of Clipa and Michal Herman, Choreographer and dance instructor, after cooperating for years. The workshops are based on the artistic language the two work by, and offer a fertile ground for creative growth. We allow the participants to create, to show and to develop.

Gufia lets the student work in small, intimate groups, in a professional environment inside Clipa Theater. During the workshop, The students will get to know Clipa’s work, its artists, creation form and shows.

This year, we open our classes to children ages 7-10 (“Dance Different”), 2 classes for teenagers in ages 11-14 or 15-18 (“Youth Gufia”) and for professional performers ages 18 and up (“Gufia Adults”) – 12 Master Classes, starting February 2018.

Dance Different

Dance Different – Ages 7-11

A yearly class. Every Sunday & Tuesday between 16:00-17:30. Every meeting will begin with a modern dance class (45 Minutes).
Then, the students will focus on creating short pieces, with personal guidance and in small groups.
The emphasis is on personal expression, modern creation, sharpening the movement and experiencing performance.
We believe that the love for movement and dance must be nurtured, given a place; every one according to their beliefs, understanding and wants – and not to use predetermined dance techniques (especially for young children).

The “Dance Different” program is lead by Michal Herman, choreographer and creator, dance instructor, with a bachelor’s degree in dance teaching and plenty of experience teaching children and teenagers.
During the class, selected artists will be giving special classes.

Along the year, the young performers will present their work in several shows, open for audience.

Who is it for?

Children ages 7-11 looking to express themselves in a modern, flexible environment, that allows critical artistic growth.

Young Gufia

Young Gufia will open 2 different classes this year: for ages 11-17 on Sundays and Tuesdays at 17:30-19:30, between the months of October and June.
The classes will explore tools for developing the modern art of performance.

The classes will focus on using the body, movement, stage make-up, writing, lighting, sound editing and video. This course was developed out of much experience working with teenagers, and it is tailored to their needs and thinking-creating process. We believe all performers require skills and abilities that will allow them to connect different stage languages. These skills will enrich their creative world, and allow for original, innovative creation.

Clipa Theater offers actors of all levels private lessons, in preparation for auditions for television, cinema, theater, and for acting-schools auditions.

For 90 minutes, we will work together, analyze the text and understand its process. We will choose the dramatic actions of your character and practice performing the monologue in different styles, to allow you a great variety during your audition.

The class will be held by Ariel Bronz, Shakespear teacher in the Nissan Natic Acting Studio in Tel-Aviv, and graduate of the studio. Bronz is an actor, playwright and director, and a member of Clipa’s ensemble.

Preparing in such a way for your audition, grants confidence in the text and in your choices. We allow you to perform on a professional stage, and leave behind the stress and fear of the unknown.

Additionally, Clipa offers private classes for dance auditions, by experiences professionals.

Make your vision a reality with Clipa’s directors, writers and producers. They will grant you artistic support, that will teach you how to make your dream a reality.

Other than the practical aspect of production, working with Clipa will assist in realizing the creative language of the show, and to specify the movement and visual style of which it will be compiled.

Dozens of years of experience allows us to help you imagine the best version of your show, and put it up on stage.

Classes for Children and Schools

Every day in the workshop can contain professional material regarding movement and object-priented theater, movement and text, dance-theater, lectures and demonstrations by the group. The workshops can be held at a school or in Clipa theater in Tel-Aviv.

Clipa’s workshops are the perfect activity for your class.

The duration of the workshop is flexible, between a few hours and two full days. It can be held either at Clipa theater (Tel-Aviv), in the workplace (space permitting), convention centers, vacation sites and outdoors.

The workshops are hosted by director and founder of Clipa, Idit Herman, in cooperation with the theater’s cast, according to a work method developed for years, over dozens of workshops in Israel and abroad.

Theses hands-on workshops will stay with you and your workers for months to come. The topics are easily picked up, are enjoyable and provide an intellectual challenge and physical expression. The exercises provide immediate tools to improve the performance of both managers and workers alike. They are surprisingly simple and are accessible to anyone.
