We believe that the time we are on stage brings us closer to reality and truth than any other time. We think that the act of performing is the ultimate lie.
Performance art is the sensation, the moment, the magic that happens between a performer and a viewer. It occurs in a specific time and place, and in relation to them. It emphasizes the way the performer operates, acts, moves and creates images in front of an audience.
Performance art is free from structures of plot and storyline. It is more likely to resemble a poem. It stimulates the senses and not necessarily the reason. Every performance is one of a kind.
Clipa Theater believes in total theater and in independent creation and production of all aspects of a performance. The viewer's experience of a performance begins when stepping through the theater's gate - entering the building and environment which are the group's home.
We believe that a performer should master several art forms. The members of our group are actors and dancers. Many play and compose music and most of the group's members work in different crafts and with various materials to create sets, props and costumes for all performances.
In Clipa we wish to create an original, ever-evolving performance art language and style, accompanied by the development of a unique working and studying method.
The work methods of the group are characterized by complete creative freedom that requires strict self-discipline. Group members believe in their art as a means of personal growth and development, as well as its capacity to bring change.
Clipa's way is the way of continuous change.
